The Young Topologists Meeting (YTM) is an annual event that has previously been organised by the EPFL (Switzerland), the University of Copenhagen (Denmark), and jointly by Stockholm University and the Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden). The YTM 2022 it will take place on July 18-22, 2022 in Copenhagen. This yearly meeting is an opportunity for young researchers in topology to meet each other and share their work. In addition to short talks by the participants, the program for the meeting will include lectures by Andrew J. Blumberg (Columbia University), Natàlia Castellana Vila (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona), and Robert Ghrist (University of Pennsylvania).

Besides the mathematics, the conference is a very social event. Participants can expect to enjoy the following:

  • Pizza reception on the first day.
  • Poster session supplemented by drinks.
  • Sightseeing tour in the canals of Copenhagen.
  • A conference dinner in Tivoli.

Note that these activities, just like the conference, are free of charge. A free lunch will also be provided everyday, as well as coffee, tea, fruits and cake during the breaks.

Registration is now closed.

The conference will take place at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. See detailed instructions on how to reach Copenhagen and the conference venue.

Tickets and passes for public transportation can be bought at the Copenhagen Airport and every train or metro station. You can find the DSB ticket office on your right-hand side as soon as you come out of the arrival area of the airport. DSB has an agreement with 7-Eleven, so many of their shops double as selling points for public transportation.

A journey planner in English is available.

More information on the "find us" webpage.

We guarantee accommodation for the speakers and poster presenters at Urban Camper, located at a walking distance from the venue. This includes 6 nights, from Sunday 17 July to Saturday 23 July, as well as breakfast.

We kindly ask the other participants to arrange their own accommodation.

We recommend Urban Camper or Danhostels which are affordable places, within reasonable distance of the mathematical department.

We also recommend Hotel 9 Små Hjem, which is pleasant and inexpensive and offers rooms with a kitchen. Other inexpensive alternatives are CabInn, which has several locations in Copenhagen: the Hotel City (close to Tivoli), Hotel Scandinavia (Frederiksberg, close to the lakes), and Hotel Express (Frederiksberg) are the most convenient locations; the latter two are 2.5-3 km from the math department. Somewhat more expensive – and still recommended – options are Hotel Nora and  Ibsen's Hotel.

An additional option is to combine a stay at the CabInn Metro Hotel with a pass for Copenhagen public transportation (efficient and reliable). See information about tickets & prices.
