"Mit fulde navn er Vladyslav, men jeg foretrækker at blive kaldt ved mit korte navn, Vlad", siger han.

Vlad er ukrainer og har en bachelor- og kandidatgrad i teoretisk fysik fra universitetet i Amsterdam. Han har en baggrund i fysik og matematik, og under sine kandidatstudier specialiserede han sig i kvanteinformationsteori.

“My master's thesis, supervised by Dr Māris Ozols and Dr Arghavan Safavi-Naini, was focused on an increasingly studied class of quantum error-correcting codes called Permutationally-Invariant (PI) codes. I generalised the error-correction conditions from qubit to qudit PI codes, studied symmetries in PI codewords and upper bounds on their code distance, and constructed a new family of qudit PI codes that has nearly optimal code distance when restricted to the qubit case.”

“During my master's, I have also contributed to a project on developing a quantum circuit for a High-dimensional quantum Schur transform, correcting a crucial mistake in the induced representations approach by Hari Krovi.”

“During my PhD, I will work on applying representation theory to quantum algorithms and quantum information science, supervised by Laura Mančinska. I will primarily focus on algorithmic aspects of the Schur-Weyl duality, and my first projects will be on developing new quantum subroutines and algorithms for key learning problems (such as tomography, spectrum estimation, purification) that can be run on small quantum devices.”

“Outside of research, I enjoy bouldering, cycle touring, and photography. I'm passionate about travelling and learning about different cultures”, fortæller Vlad.

Du kan møde Vlad i Vibenshuset, kontor V01-4-03.
