Alex Bols, postdoc ved QMATH
Alex Bols er ansat som postdoc ved Institut for Matematiske Fag, hvor han er tilknyttet Sektionen for Geometrisk Analyse og Matematisk Fysik.
Alex afsluttede sin ph.d. i fysik i maj 2019 ved KU Leuven i Belgien med afhandlingen ”Quantization of Charge Transport in Gapped Ground States”. Hans Master og Bachelor var også i fysik ved KU Leuven, opnået i henholdsvis 2015 og 2013.
Her i København vil han arbejde sammen med QMATH-centret (Villum Centre for Mathematics of Quantum Theory). Han beskriver sin forskning således:
“I’m working on gapped phases of matter, with a particular interest in understanding these phases in the interacting regime. This involves several interesting problems and questions, from deciding whether a given system is gapped, through considering aspects of bulk-boundary correspondence and, of course, to find the topology hiding in these gapped systems.”
