Young Geometers Meeting
University of Copenhagen - 19-23 April 2021
The Young Geometers Meeting is a workshop focused on differential geometry and geometric analysis taking place in Copenhagen April, 19-23, 2021. The meeting is intended as an opportunity for graduate students, recent PhDs, and other junior researchers in geometry to meet each other and share their work.In addition to short talks by the participants, the program for the meeting will include lectures by Anna Dall'Acqua (Ulm University), Oliver Schnürer (University of Konstanz) and Antoine Song (Berkley). We accept online contributions and all talks will be live streamed via Zoom.
The conference/masterclass will take place at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, Auditorium 4. See detailed instructions on how to reach Copenhagen and the conference venue.
Tickets and passes for public transportation can be bought at the Copenhagen Airport and every train or metro station. You can find the DSB ticket office on your right-hand side as soon as you come out of the arrival area of the airport. DSB has an agreement with 7-Eleven, so many of their shops double as selling points for public transportation.
Moreover, there is a ticket app for mobile devices called “DOT Tickets”; see also here.
A journey planner in English is available.
More information on the "find us" webpage.
We kindly ask the participants to arrange their own accommodation.
We recommend Hotel 9 Små Hjem, which is pleasant and inexpensive and offers rooms with a kitchen. Other inexpensive alternatives are CabInn, which has several locations in Copenhagen: the Hotel City (close to Tivoli), Hotel Scandivania (Frederiksberg, close to the lakes), and Hotel Express (Frederiksberg) are the most convenient locations; the latter two are 2.5-3 km from the math department. Somewhat more expensive – and still recommended – options are Hotel Nora and Ibsen's Hotel.
Due to the Corona pandemic we will likely only be able to admit a restricted number of participants to the conference.
The deadline to apply for contributed talks is 01.02.2021.
The deadline for funding applications is 01.03.2021.
If you are not applying for funding, please register by 01.04.2021.
