Martin Bladt transferred to the Promotion Programme
The dean has transferred Associate Professor Martin Bladt to the UCPH promotion programme.
The University of Copenhagen offers particularly talented associate professors the opportunity to participate in a promotion programme that can lead to a professorial appointment.
Martin is working in the section for Insurance and Economics. His research interests include statistical theory and practice, actuarial modelling, and probability theory.
Martin is currently heading the project: “Statistical modelling of emerging risks with missing and censored data”. The project addresses statistical modelling of emerging risks, especially catastrophic events, with a focus on missing and censored data. It aims to bridge the knowledge gap in extreme value theory when observations are incomplete, utilising mathematical statistics and machine learning methods to ensure accurate risk estimation.
Martin was born in Aalborg (Denmark) and has a bachelor’s degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico and a master’s degree from the University of Copenhagen. He completed his PhD in 2020 in Lausanne, Switzerland, under the supervision of Hansjörg Albrecher. Martin has been appointed as an Associate Professor at the Department for Mathematical Sciences since 1 February 2023.
