Aleksander Søltoft-Jensen, scientific assistant in SPT

Nyansat

Aleksander Søltoft-Jensen is from 1 March 2019 employed as a research assistant at the section Statistics and Probability Theory.

Aleksander Søltoft-JensenAleksander completed his master's degree in statistics at the University of Copenhagen in 2018 under the supervision of Susanne Ditlevsen. The thesis was entitled "Describing the sound producing behaviour of narwhals based on spatial and temporal covariates: Independence vs. dependence".

As a research assistant, he will write scientific articles together with Susanne Ditlevsen (among others).

Aleksander's research area concerns the use of statistics to describe the behaviour of narwhals. “I must first try to set up some models that can describe the behaviour of the whales under normal circumstances. Later on, I will investigate to what extent the whales are affected by sound,” says Aleksander.

Aleksander will work from office 04.3.28
