Nyansat

Tommaso Aschieri will from 1 September 2022 be employed as a PhD student at the department’s Analysis & Quantum section and the Centre for the Mathematics of Quantum Theory (QMATH).

Tommaso Aschieri

The title of his PhD project is “Wehrl entropy and invariant quantum channels”, and he will be working on the problem of minimizing the output entropy of certain classes of quantum channels that are invariant under the action of a group. His supervisor will be Prof. Jan Philip Solovej.

Tommaso studied at Aarhus University for both his bachelor’s and master’s and he graduated in June 2022. His thesis was titled “Unique continuation of solutions to elliptic partial differential equations”; he wrote it under the supervision of Prof. Søren Fournais.

“I am Italian, but I spent a year in Denmark as an exchange student when I was in high school, which allowed me to learn the language and get closer to the Danish culture and traditions. In my free time, I play volleyball, and here in Denmark I have played in the first division”, says Tommaso.

You can meet Tommaso in the QMATH office at Vibenshuset.
