Simon Schmidt, postdoc
Simon Schmidt is employed as Marie Curie postdoctoral fellow at the Department from 1 June 2021. He is part of the Centre for the Mathematics of Quantum Theory and works with Laura Mančinska.
Simon received his PhD in 2020 from Saarland University, Germany, under the supervision of Moritz Weber. He then held a postdoctoral position at Glasgow University, Scotland, where he was working with Christian Voigt.
His research interests include operator algebras, quantum groups, graph theory and quantum information theory. His research focuses on quantum automorphisms and quantum isomorphisms.
Within the Marie Curie project “Nonlocality in quantum groups”, he intends to explore in particular the interactions between quantum groups and quantum information theory.
