Siddharth Vadnerkar, postdoc
Siddharth was employed as a postdoctoral researcher in the Analysis & Quantum Section as of 1 February 2026.
Siddharth holds a B.Tech. in Engineering Physics from IIT Delhi (India), a master’s degree in physics from Stony Brook University (USA), and a PhD from the University of California, Davis (USA). His PhD dissertation title was: "An Operator-Algebraic Framework for Anyons and Defects in Quantum Spin Systems".
- I like studying the various aspects of Topological Phases and use Operator Algebras and Tensor Categorical techniques to study them. I especially enjoy topological phases because somehow using the topological characteristics allows us to turn the functional analytical study of many-body systems into an algebraic study, says Siddharth.
He will be working with Prof Albert Werner and the Centre for the Mathematics of Quantum Theory (QMATH).
- I love taking photos of uninteresting things in interesting ways, love brutally difficult games, and love exploring new food, culture, and faces. I've never visited a Nordic country before committing to a postdoc at UCPH, and so far, I'm having a great time :)
You can find Siddharth at the QMATH office V01-4-21.
