Markus Emil Jacobsen, PhD student
Newly employed
Markus was employed as a PhD student at the department’s section for Algebra & Geometry from 1 September 2025.
“I did my master’s at Sorbonne Université in Paris with a thesis about Paul Nelson's papers on quantum variance on quaternion algebras. Before that, I was a bachelor’s student here at the department, and I am very happy to be back”, says Markus.
“For my PhD, supervised by Jasmin Matz, I will study analytic aspects of automorphic forms. Initially, I will attempt to improve certain averaged equidistribution results (perhaps including the aforementioned ones of Nelson) to smaller families of forms.”
