Howard Barnum guest professor at QMATH

Guest

Professor Howard Barnum (University of New Mexico) joins the QMATH centre as visiting professor for half a year.

Howard BarnumHoward is a pioneer in quantum information theory and the foundations of physics, where he co-authored a number of milestone results in the research field, including a generalization of the famous no-cloning principle and results on quantum query complexity and algorithms, cryptographic authentication of quantum information, and the transmission of quantum information through noisy quantum channels.

Most recently, he has been interested in characterizing quantum theory by mathematical and information-theoretical axioms, and plans to extend his group-theoretical approach to the subject while in Copenhagen.
