guest

Professor Charles Bennett from IBM Research is visiting QMATH and the Niels Bohr International Academy from April to June this year on a grant from the Simons Foundation.

Charles BennettIn 2018, Bennett was awarded the Wolf Prize in Physics 2018 for founding and advancing the fields of Quantum Cryptography and Quantum Teleportation.

"Charlie is the father of the quantum information community, we are part of today. It is fantastic to have him in Copenhagen and to engage in discussions on the nature of information and computation in different systems: ranging from the very small systems of a few atoms to the entire universe." says Matthias Christandl.

Professor Bennett's stay was kicked off by a workshop on Quantum Information and Cosmology from April 9-12.

He will give the MATH Department Colloquium on May 23. The title is "Forging the Culture of Quantum Information Science".
