Asbjørn’s research focuses on analytic number theory and automorphic forms, especially L-functions, modular forms, and equidistribution. He has published in leading journals such as Proceedings of the London Mathematical Society, Transactions of the American Mathematical Society, and Journal für die reine und angewandte Mathematik.

After completing his PhD in Copenhagen in 2020, Asbjørn held postdoctoral positions at the University of Bonn, Université Sorbonne Paris Nord, École Normale Supérieure, and most recently as a Hadamard Postdoctoral Fellow at Université Paris-Saclay.

Alongside his research, Asbjørn has given invited lectures internationally and has been actively involved in the International Mathematical Olympiad community, both as a medal-winning participant and as an organizer and team leader for Denmark.

Head of Department Mogens Steffensen states: “We are proud to welcome Asbjørn back to Copenhagen. His international experience, deep expertise in number theory, and strong engagement with the broader mathematical community will be a valuable addition to the department’s research and teaching”.
