Mikael Rørdam appointed Honorary Professor at ECNU
East China Normal University in Shanghai has appointed Mikael Rørdam Honorary Professor “in recognition of his outstanding contributions and academic achievements in the field of mathematics”.
On 1 August 2023, Secretary Yang Changli presented the honorary professor certificate to Mikael Rørdam on behalf of East China Normal University (ECNU) in Shanghai.
The dean of the School of Mathematics and Science, Lv Changhong, Professor Huaxin Lin, leader of the ECNU Research center for Operator Algebras, and about 60 participants in the conference "Special Week on Operator Algebras, 2023" attended the event.
Secretary Yang Changli said in her speech that Professor Mikael Rørdam has made outstanding academic achievements and profound accomplishments in the fields of operator algebras and functional analysis, and he enjoys a high reputation in international academic circles.
“During the 25 years since his first visit to East China Normal University in 1997, Professor Mikael Rørdam has given several lecture series and talks at ECNU. The East China Normal University sincerely thanks him for his strong support of the school's academic career. His joining will provide academic resources and intellectual support for the school and enrich the opportunities and possibilities of academic exchanges and international cooperation”, said Yang Changli.
Professor Rørdam said in his acceptance speech that he will continue to maintain close contact with ECNU, promote academic exchanges and cooperation, and contribute to the development of the discipline. After the ceremony, Rørdam gave an academic address.
