Broadly speaking, I am interested in the mathematical-theoretical and practical challenges that arise due to multi-state modeling in life insurance and related fields.
My own contributions to the domain relate to empirical Bayes methods for experience rating, forward transition rates, market consistent valuation in the presence of taxes and expenses, and stochastic Thiele equations.
I have been developing and teaching elective courses in advanced life insurance mathematics since 2018.
