Title: On Arithmetic Statistics and Periods of Automorphic Forms

I will discuss a number of results within the field of analytic number theory and automorphic forms, which are all concerned with “arithmetic statistics”, one way or another. The topics covered range from subconvexity, sup norm bounds and equidistribution of geometric invariants of quadratic fields, to arithmetic statistics of modular symbols (and generalizations) and reciprocity formulae. In the presentation, I will focus on a common underlying theme in all of the mentioned work, namely that of “periods of automorphic forms” and its role in number theory in general. A substantial part of the presentation will be aimed at a general audience.

Some of the results presented are joint with respectively, Y. Petridis, M. Risager, P. Humphries and P. Constantinescu.
