Title: The future of the scientific publishing system

Abstract: Many scientists feel that something is going wrong with the publishing system. I will discuss the recent BRCP report "Against Parasite Publishers: Making Journals Free" (doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.7212922). It presents a concise analysis of the current publication system and gives conrete recommendations, for example emphasis on diamond open-access and the creation of free journals subventionned by universities. The talk (30-45 minutes) is followed by a discussion.
