Titel: Chern-Simons Theory and the Quantum R-Matrix

Abstract: In this thesis I present my progress in showing that solutions to the quantum Yang-Baxter equation can be obtained from the expectation value of crossing Wilson lines in Chern-Simons theory at all orders in perturbation theory. I use a method originally due to Bott and Taubes, defining Feynman diagram integrals over a certain compactification of the configuration space of vertices. Using Stokes’ theorem, the problem of deducing Yang-Baxter solutions can be reduced to showing that the integrals vanish on the boundary of the configuration space.
