Titel: Retaining the consumption level upon  disability and retirement

Abstract: This thesis examines the interaction between the disability and retirement benefits from the government and a private insurance scheme from the point of view of the beneficiary. The aim is to secure the individual a certain level of consumption upon disability and retirement, equivalent to the consumption level experienced as active and not retired. Given the government benefits, we calculate the premium, the individual should pay to a commercial contract in order to preserve the consumption level. The premium is calculated for constant government benefits, and in the case where the benefits vary subject to the individual’s income, including benefits from a commercial contract. Finally, it is considered, how changes in the assumptions affect the time of retirement, when the consumption level is fixed.
