Projection theorems and equidistribution

Abstract:

In homogeneous dynamics there are powerful tools to understand the qualitative behavior of orbits, such as Ratner's equidistribution theorem. Until recently, these results were ineffective and did not come with rates. In my talk I will present two equidistribution results and try to connect them to remarkable projection results by Bourgain and by Gan, Gou and Wang.
