Borel Chromatic Numbers and Borel Combinatorics
Reading Seminar in Descriptive Set Theory by Konstantin Slutsky
NB: the seminar has been postponed to 17.00.
We start a seminar devoted to the field of Borel Combinatorics. In the next few lectures we plan to go over parts of "Borel Chromatic Numbers" by Kechris, Solecki and Todorcevic, and "A Determinacy Approach to Borel Combinatorics" by Andrew Marks. The first lecture will be an introductory overview of the subject. We shall introduce the notion of the Borel chromatic number and explain how it differs from the usual chromatic number of a graph. We shall than state some milestone results and mention a few interesting open problems.
