Department colloquium - Tobias Holck Colding

Title: Regularity questions in geometric flows

Speaker: Tobias Holck Colding (Cecil and Ida Green Distinguished Professor of Mathematics), MIT

Abstract:  I will discuss regularity questions for geometric flows and applications.

Colding was awarded the PhD degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1992. He became a full professor at New York University as early as 1999. Since 2005 he has been a professor of mathematics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology; since 2006 also adjunct professor at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, where he works around four months a year. Colding has won several awards for his research and has considerable experience in both research and teaching from American elite universities.
