Title: Balmer spectrum of motives.

Abstract: An important invariant of a stable infinity-category is the Balmer spectrum, a topological space describing the possible supports of objects. This fundamental construction generalizes the prime spectrum of a commutative ring and often gives reasonable and interesting answers in contexts far removed from classical algebra.

In this talk, I will describe the Balmer spectrum of cellular motives of smooth complex varieties completed at the prime two. As the latter infinity-category is somewhat of intermediary between topology and algebra, we will see that the answer involves the mixture of both worlds. This is based on joint work with Robert Burklund and Ishan Levy.
