Title: A taste of homotopical group theory

Abstract: The idea of homotopical group theory is not new. The classifying space of a finite/Lie group contains all its information. When we study this space using our favourite functor from algebraic toplogy we would like to see which group information is recovered. The idea is to do group theory in terms of classifying spaces. The concept p-local finite/compact group associated to a fusion system provide a framework in which one can deal with p-completed classifying spaces.

In this talk I will introduce the main concepts and give some examples of homotopical versions of classical results. Part of this talk is based in joint project with T. Barthel,
D. Heard and G. Valenzuela.
