Title: THE BANNAI-ITO ALGEBRA AND EXACTLY SOLVABLE MODELS

Abstract: 

I will introduce the Bannai-Ito algebra, discuss its properties, connection with orthogonal polynomials and relation with the Racah problem for the superalgebra osp(1,2). I will indicate that this algebra arises as the symmetry algebra of a class of superintegrable models and of Dirac-Dunkl equations. A higher rank outlook will be presented.
