Seminar: Operations on Hochschild homology

Espen Auseth Nielsen will give a talk on Operations on Hochschild homology.

Abstract: To an A-infinity dg-algebra one may associate its complex of Hochschild chains, which has connections to many areas of mathematics, e.g. geometry (string topology), number theory (algebraic K-theory) and noncommutative geometry (via the HKR theorem). As such we would like to understand the symmetries of this complex. I will describe a general machine that takes in some structure one might put on an algebra (such as associative, commutative, Frobenius, etc.) and outputs the symmetries of their Hochschild complexes.

The lecture is part of the ALG/NCG/TOP Ph.D. students' seminar.
