Title: Approximation properties of q-Araki-Woods algebras

Abstract: I will report on recent results about type III counterparts of q-Gaussian algebras -- the q-Araki-Woods algebras. In the first part of the talk I will present some motivation for studying these algebras and introduce the main tools -- the Wick formula and the second quantisation. The latter is crucial for constructing approximating maps. In the rest of the talk I plan to present the main ideas of proofs of Haagerup property and complete metric approximation property of q-Araki-Woods algebras. This is joint work with Stephen Avsec and Michael Brannan.
