Workshop: Mathematical modeling and statistical analysis in neuroscience – University of Copenhagen

Workshop

The MATHSTATNEURO Workshop will bring together theoretical, experimental and computational researchers who are working on various topics in neuroscience. The focus is on mathematical modeling and statistical analysis in neuroscience.

Venue and dates:

The conference will be held at Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen, and the event is hosted by the Dynamical Systems Interdisciplinary Network, University of Copenhagen, which is funded by the UCPH Excellence Programme for Interdisciplinary Research. The conference is held from Wednesday, July 2 to Friday, July 4, 2014. We will start around 9:00 h on Wednesday, and end around lunch time on Friday. You can find information and directions to the mathematics department here. A map to reach from venue to lunch, and from venue to conference dinner will be available soon. All talks will take place in Auditorium 4.

How to reach the venue, where to eat and drink:

Information for how to reach the department from hotels/metro stations/railway stations can be found here, together with a detailed map of the area and further relevant information, e.g. tickets for public transportation.

There are plenty of choice on where to eat and drink in Copenhagen, both near the Venue of the conference and in the city center. A detailed list and map can be found here.

Accommodation:

We recommend Hotel de 9 Små Hjem, which is pleasant and inexpensive and offers room with a kitchen. Other inexpensive alternatives are CabInn that has several locations in Copenhagen: the Hotel City (close to Tivoli), Hotel Scandivania (Frederiksberg, close to the lakes), and Hotel Express (Frederiksberg) are the most convenient locations; the latter two are 2.5-3 km from the math department. Somewhat more expensive - and still recommended - options are Hotel Nora and Ibsen's Hotel. You can also check this almost up to date hotel list.

Schedule:

The scientific program is now available and can be downloaded from here. The list of speakers is also available below.

Registration:

Registrations are now closed. There is no conference fee and we are happy to announce free lunches for all registered participants. If you sign up for a meal and do not show up, you will have to pay. If you want to change your choises about lunches, please contact Massimiliano Tamborrino at mt@math.ku.dk.

Welcoming reception:

There will be a free welcoming reception on Wednesday, July 2, 17:30-19:00. The reception will be held at the Department of Mathematical Sciences. More info will follow.

Conference dinner:

The conference dinner will take place on Thursday, July 3 at Nørrebro Bryghus at 19:00. We hope to offer the conference dinner, otherwise the cost is 400 dkk (free for invited speakers) which has to be paid upon arrival.
