Professor Ragnar Norberg is dead

Ragnar Norberg died December 18 after long illness.

Ragnar NorbergRagnar was professor of insurance mathematics and head of Laboratory of Actuarial Mathematics 1991-2000. The laboratory merged later into the present Department of Mathematical Sciences.

During 10 years in Copenhagen Ragnar had crucial influence on both research and education in actuarial mathematics in Copenhagen, also on the way it looks today.

Ragnar came to Copenhagen from Oslo and had after the years in Copenhagen positions in London and Lyon. From there he has contributed tremendously to a strong international insurance mathematical discipline and environment.

Ragnar is missed by his family and friends and the international society of insurance mathematics.
