Elisenda Feliu new associate professor

Promotion

The Dean has appointed Elisenda Feliu as associate professor in mathematical biology at the Department of Mathematical Sciences from 1 August 2015.

Elisenda Feliu

Elisenda was employed at the Institute of Mathematical Sciences as postdoc in 2012 and assistant professor in 2014. She has a bachelor, master and doctoral degree from the University of Barcelona, where she also has a master degree in Bioinformatics. She was 2010-12 employed as a postdoc at the Bioinformatics Research Centre, University of Aarhus.

Elisenda Feliu is one of the leading forces behind the MATH research group "Mathematics of reaction networks", which focuses on the development of mathematical theory to analyze mathematical models that arise from studying systems of (bio)chemical reactions.

Elisenda was recently admitted as one of eight new members to The Young Academy, created by the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences. The Young Academy is a new scientific forum for young, talented researchers within all branches of science.

Elisenda received in the spring of 2014 a Research Leader grant from the DFF/Sapere Aude programme. The grant is aimed at very talented researchers who have demonstrated the ability for original research at a high international level. Elisenda received support for the project "Development of mathematical methods to analyze mathematical models in molecular biology."
