Study MATH and get high wages and low unemployment

A new analysis from the think tank CEPOS - based on figures from Statistics Denmark’s registers – shows what a high school student can be expected to earn in a working life, investing in various forms of higher education.

Actuarial Mathematics is in a class of its own with a life income of 896,000 DKK a year. The second top scorer is medical education with a life income of 755,000 DKK/Year.

Mathematics-Economics is number 10 on the list with an average annual income of 678,000 DKK. Statistics is number 34 with 612,000 DKK/Year. As number 124 we find Mathematics that ensures a life income of 556,000 DKK/Year.

“Average Salaries through life is not something that will change much from one year to another. So with a distance of 140,000 DKK down to the doctors, I expect Actuarial Mathematics will be number 1 in the CEPOS list at least half a generation yet”, says Professor Mogens Steffensen, Head of the Insurance and Economics Section, and adds: “It's obviously very satisfying to train graduates who are in such demand in the labor market”.
