Tenure-track assistant Professor of Actuarial Mathematics and Data Science
The Department of Mathematical Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position at the intersection of non-life insurance and data science. The position is open from 1 March 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The tenure-track assistant professor’s duties primarily include research, including obligations with regard to publication/scientific communication and research-based teaching with associated examination obligations within actuarial mathematics and data science. Research and teaching obligations include activities with industrial partners in industry-related research projects and in our Continued Professional Development programme for the industry. To a limited extent the position may also include other duties.
It is not necessary that applicants have done research in both of the areas of non-life insurance and data science, but they must be interested in and willing to do research and to teach in the border area between the two.
The tenure track assistant professor must have an academic standing showing internationally competitive research, have an internationally recognized potential for outstanding research achievements, have strong teaching credentials, and have aptitude to work on industry-related projects.
