Professor, Department of Mathematical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. Head of the research group Statistics and Probability Theory.

MSc in mathematics in 1999 from la Universidad Nacional de Educacion a Distancia, Spain. MSc in statistics in 2000 from Department of Mathematical Sciences and PhD in biostatistics in 2005 from Department of Biostatistics, University of Copenhagen. Project-financed statistician 2000-2001, PhD student 2001-2004, Assistant Professor 2004-2007 and Associate Professor from February 2007 at the same place. In September 2007 I moved to the Department of Mathematical Sciences, as full professor from July 2011.





Research interests

Statistical inference for stochastic processes. Mathematical modeling of physiological systems. Nonlinear dynamics. The tubuloglomerular feedback mechanism in nephrons. Neuronal modelling.

I participate in Copenhagen Statistics Network and the EU research training network Statistical Methods for Dynamical Stochastic Models.

Dynamic Statistical Models, ISI-satellite meeting, Copenhagen, August 17-19, 2011. As a satellite meeting for the 58th ISI meeting in Dublin 2011 the University of Copenhagen organizes this meeting on Dynamic Statistical Models in the framework of the Statistics Program of Excellence; Statistical methods for complex and high dimensional models.

Summer School on Stochastic Differential Equation Models with Applications to the Insulin-Glucose System and Neuronal Modelling, Middelfart, Denmark, August 3-16, 2008. It is part of a series of events on Mathematical Modeling of Human Physiological Systems with Biomedical Applications , 2007-2010.
