Education
Ph.D. 2002, University of Illinois
at Urbana-Champaign. Thesis advisors: Donald Burkholder and Marius Junge.
M.S. 1997, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Diploma in Mathematics 1993, University
of Bucharest.
My main mathematical interests are in the fields of von Neumann algebras and
operator spaces, as well as applications to noncommutative probability, with a
focus on noncommutative Lp-spaces and inequalities for noncommutative
martingales. I have also carried out research in classical potential theory.
My work has been supported by NSF Grant DMS 0703869.
Von
Neumann algebras and group actions: Master Class (January 25-29, 2010) and Workshop
(February 1-5, 2010) at the University of Copenhagen. Organizers: Uffe Haagerup
and Magdalena Musat.
