Læringsmål

At tilegne sig et afgrænset fagområde fra den matematiske, statistiske eller økonomiske forskningslitteratur, gerne med et praktisk økonomisk problem som udgangspunkt, og formidle det i egne ord i såvel en skriftlig rapport som et mundtligt forsvar, med særlig vægt på følgende

at forholde sig aktivt og kritisk til argumenter fra forskningsartikelbaseret stof i samspil med vejlederen
at tilføje detaljer til argumenter fra forskningsartikelbaseret stof i et omfang så det er forståeligt for eksaminanden selv og andre på samme faglige niveau
at sætte forskningsartikelbaseret stof i faglig sammenhæng ved inddragelse af lærebøger og andre kilder
at udvælge hvilke dele af stoffet der skal behandles i detalje og hvilke dele der kan beskrives gennem bevisudeladelse og resultatimport under hensyntagen til den ekspositoriske og logiske sammenhæng
at udvælge dele af stoffet med henblik på mundtlig fremstilling overfor andre studerende på samme faglige niveau
at lokalisere og anvende supplerende litteratur under hensyntagen til konventioner for referencer og litteraturliste
at afklare og formidle hvilke åbne spørgsmål der ligger i forlængelse af det aktuelle projekt.

Learning objectives

To aquire understanding of a body of knowledge from the mathematical, statistical or economical research literature, possibly with a practical economical problem as starting point, and to give an exposition of the chosen field, both in a written report and in an oral defence, with particular emphasis on the following:

to develop an active and critical attitude towards arguments from the mathematical research literature in interaction with the supervisor
to add details to arguments from the mathematical research literature to an extent where the material becomes comprehensible to the student and others at the same level of scientific maturity.
to put material from the mathematical research litterature in its proper context, using textbooks and other sources.
to single out the aspects of the material to be treated in detail and to give a proper treatment of the remaining aspects by references and import of results, giving an overall coherent and logical exposition.
to single out aspects of the material suitable for an oral presentation to other students at the same level of scientific maturity.
to find and utilize supplementary literature, respecting common conventions for use of references and lists of literature.
to clarify and explain open problems connected to the domain of the project.
