Explanation of the Theseus homepage of a person
The left frame contains a menu with the structure of the homepages for a person and the years
of birth and death of the person. Clicking on the links in the menu display in the right
frame more detailed information. The menus are usually divided into five main categories:
- Curriculum vitae. A very short biography consisting of a number of points. This item is only included in a few cases.
- Archival material. Here is information about archival
material like: manuscripts,
correspondence, collections (for example a reprint collection), pictures,
interviews and instruments.
Below the item "Archival material" may be a link to search results,
which are the results (positive or negative) of attempts to find
archival material related to the person.
- Bibliography. This may include a list of everything published
by the person alone or in collaboration with others, or a reference to
such a list. The list may be divided into
sub-categories like: scientific publications, textbooks, newspaper articles,
etc. depending on the amount and type of publications. Below the item
"Bibliography" may be a link to information about the person's
Collected Works, if they have been published.
- Secondary literature. This is information about works
about the person and his/her
works. It may be divided into sub-categories like:
obituaries, general secondary
literature, encyclopedia articles, articles on the World Wide Web etc.,
but they are not necessarily exhaustive.
- Theseus features consists of a link to this explanation and
a link to a log file, which describes when and by whom later additions
to the homepage of the person were made
