Singular Integral Operators and weights, an expository lecture.

It is well known that the theory of Singular Integral Operators, or more generally Calderón-Zygmund operators plays a central role in modern Harmonic Analysis. In this expository lecture we plan to survey on some recent progress concerning the boundedness of these operators on weighted $L^p(w)$ space $1\leq p<\infty$. From the classical well stablished theory we know that the right class of weights is the Muckenhoupt A_p class. However our interest is in the behavior of the operator norm in terms of the the A_p constant. Interesting new results have been obtained in recent years and we plan to give an overview of these area of research.
