Welcome to the topology group at the University of Copenhagen!

Our group carries out research in both algebraic and geometric topology, as well as its interactions with group and representation theory. Research areas include homotopy theory, homotopical group theory, group cohomology, mapping class groups, operads, and manifold- and surgery theory.  The homepages of the individual group members contain more detailed information about our research.

Our monday topology seminar (usually at 3pm) is currently organized by Oscar Randal-Williams and Alexander Berglund;  please write them to suggest a speakers. Alexander Berglund is organizing a weekly reading seminar on various topics of current interest. There is likewise a student run seminar "Toptopics" on various topics of their interest.

Our group gratefully acknowledges support from the Danish Natural Science Research Council (Rømer and Steno awards) and well as the European Science Foundation (EURYI Award (Grodal), ERC Advanced Grant (Madsen), ERC Starting Grant (Wahl)). We are established as a "Programme of Excellence" by the University of Copenhagen, and are part of the "Centre for Symmetry and Deformation", funded by the Danish National Research Foundation.
