Descent theory concerns itsself with finding out when and how one can deduce that a mathematical structure on a mathematical object X has "descended" from another mathematical object Y covering X in some way. In this seminar Clarisson Canlubo will explain the version of this problem that arises in the theory of Hopf algebras.
