Helle Sørensen has been called for a professorship at MATH

Helle Sørensen has been called for a professorship at the Department of Mathematical Sciences. Helle is internationally recognized for her many research contributions in both theoretical and applied statistics and is known for her ability to establish close and fruitful collaborations with researchers from other sciences.

Professor Helle SørensenHelle has been Professor with Special Responsibilities (mso) at MATH since 2013 with responsibility for leading the Laboratory for Applied Statistics.The laboratory has been so successful that the Faculty of Science has decided to fund the activities of the newly created Data Science Laboratory, where Helle leads the statistics group.

The Data Science Laboratory is an activity in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science aiming to enhance the quality of the data analysis in research carried out at the faculty of Science.

Helle Sørensen got her M.Sc. and PhD degrees in statistics from the Department of Mathematical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. She has previously been employed at the Department of Economics, Copenhagen University and at the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University.
