Tobias Barthel, postdoc at SYM
Newly employed
Tobias Barthel is employed as a postdoc from 1 September 2016, in a three year position. He will be working with the Topology research group and the Centre for Symmetry and Deformation.
Tobias studied mathematics at the University of Oxford and received his PhD in September 2014 under the supervision of Mike Hopkins. For the last two years, he has been a postdoc at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in Bonn.
His primary field of research is algebraic topology, in particular chromatic homotopy theory and its interactions with algebraic geometry and representation theory.
