News

The first version of the homepages of the Archive were opened in the spring of 1998. They were not complete then. Later they have been updated when new material has been included or new inventories have been made.

In the chronological list below contains the news of the Archive, i.e. when new collections have been received, when new inventories have been completed etc. The purpose of the list is to give you a quick survey of which changes have been made since your last visit to the homepages.

2000

July: 1-9 July: All links and anchors on the homepages of the Archive have been tested and any "dead" links have been updated. On the page with information on the administration of the archive (only in Danish) links have been made to a number of forms, documents etc. in pdf-format. Generally, all files in postscript format have been changed to pdf format. A short description of the Archive was added.

1999

July: 29 July: References to the Theseus homepages were added to a series of inventories of archives of individuals. Theseus supplies further information on archival material. At 1 August Kurt Ramskov leave the committee of the Archive and the homepages of the Archive have generally been updated with this information. The collections of archival material from the Mathematics Institute and the Department of Mathematics are being reorganized after part of it was handed over to the Danish National Archives and the inventory Matematisk Institut has been updated (but it is not complete yet).; 1 July: Photocopies of material from Staatsarchiv Hamburg was added to box 10 in the Jakob Nielsen papers.
June: 25 June: Some links on the homepages have been changed to make the structure clearer.; 22 June: Lars-Erik Lundberg Papers was added to the Archive, but they were unsorted and no inventory has been made yet.; 10 June: Some corrections to the list of collections have been made. In the Danish inventories information about where the collections are located have been added with links to a map of the rooms of the archive.
May: 28 May: Notes have been added to the collections Mathematics notes (15 boxes added) and Physics and astronomy notes. Furthermore, the collection notes for operations research has been created. Four boxes have been added to the stock of notes. Two folders with interviews were added as folder 56 and 57 to the Harald Bohr papers.. Two instruments have been added to instruments and models. For some of the collections information of where they are located physical has been added to the inventories.; 20 April: The Archive has received collection of student essays and theses in mathematics from the Department of Mathematics and an inventory in Danish has been produced.
January: 4 January: The partly English inventory of the Børge Jessen papers has been completed and the homepage containing a survey of the collections has been changed.

1998

December: 22 December: The inventory in Danish of the collection Børge Jessen papers has been completed. The content of the collection Reprint and books is now available in Danish.; 14 December: The layout of the homepage of the Archive (both the English and Danish version) was changed. Inventories in Danish of the collections Hans Tornehave papers og Christian Juel papers were completed. A collection of reprints has been added to the collection Carl Hansen papers. The size of the that collection has therefore increased considerable. The inventory (in Danish only) has been updated.
November: 26 November: Notes from the 1990s and a few older notes have been added to the collection Mathematics notes This has changed the box number of several of the notes in the collection and the inventory has been updated accordingly. The reprint collection of the Archive has got additional reprints and the inventory has been updated.; 15 November: An inventory in English of the Werner Fenchel papers was completed. G. Mohr: Euclides Danicus and D. Fog's obituary added to the Hjelmslev papers. An inventory in Danish for The Archive's reprint collection was completed.
October: 6 October: An inventory in English for the Jakob Nielsen papers has been completed.
September: 8 September: An inventory of the collection Käte Fenchel papers has been completed. Four boxes have been added to the collection Matematisk Institut and the inventory has been modified accordingly.
August: 25 August: The archives homepages on "News", "Access to the material", "The committee and its tasks" together with the entrance homepage of the archive were made in an English version.; 20 August: Inventories have been completed for the collections: Werner Fenchel papers, Matematisk Instituts administration [The administration of the Mathematics Institute] and Billed- og medaljesamling [The collection of pictures and medals]. All are in Danish.
July: 31 July: Two boxes of archival material from Hans Tornehave were received (from Jørgen Tornehave).; 3 July: Inventory has been completed for the JakobNielsen papers in Danish.
June: 30 June: Inventories have been completed for the collections: Johs. Hjelmslev papers, Matematisk Instituts arkiv [The archive of the Mathematics Institute] and Preprints etc., Math. Inst.. All are in Danish.
25 June: Inventories have been completed for the collections:Matematiknoter [Mathematical notes], Dansk Matematisk Forenings arkiv [The archive of the Danish Mathematical Society] andthe J. F. Steffensen papers All are in Danish.
23 June: Archival material from J. F. Steffensen received (from Gerd Grubb).
5 June: An inventory has been completed for the Julius Pál papersin Danish.
May: 26 May: An inventory has been completed for the Carl Hansen papers in Danish.
7 May: Bundgaard's material on a course on convexity given in the fall of 1983 received (from Asmus Schmidt).
April: 21 April: C. Dahl's notes of the theory of conic sections after the lectures of Zeuthen 1871-73 received (from Henrik Meyer).
