#### - Research Profile -

My research focuses on the application and development of tools in algebraic geometry and algebra to address questions arising in molecular biology.

Specifically I focus on the mathematical study of interaction networks, mainly on understanding their properties at equilibrium. I am interested in applications to biological systems, such as post translational modification reaction networks.

I work at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, in the research group Mathematics of Reaction Networks.

I am a member of **Det Unge Akademi**, (webpage)

We recently organised a workshop on *Mathematical Trends in Reaction Network Theory*, which brought together experts from around the world, working on the theory describing the behaviour of systems of (bio)chemical reactions. Read more **here**.

I hold a PhD in Mathematics (2007), from the Universitat de Barcelona, in the area of *Arakelov Geometry/Algebraic K-theory*.
Further, I hold a Master in Bioinformatics (2008) from the Universitat de Barcelona and the Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
